My Gallery :: Part- I

If you eat eggs, make sure you make the best use of those shells which we throw as waste!

You can convert it into a great piece of art and craft, you can make candles out of it, broken piece can be used for collage work, wall hangings, not only that we can use it for growing sapling or even use it for gardening in powdered form. Before actually using them for art and craft, the first step is to- wash the empty eggshells properly and dry it.

Here’s a glance of my work:

Animals/ Birds simulations:
 I made simulations using eggshells, cardboard, chart pieces, glue and sketch pens  to make duck, rabbit, piggy and cow. We can also make cute penguins, owls and others. Learning by doing specially in lower classes will help in better understanding of the preliminary topics .
Learning: Students appreciate the presence of various animals, birds etc, their appearance. Students will understand the beauty of the nature, Mother Earth and its various creations. Lots of fun!!!
Christmas Accessories:
used eggshells, cardboard, velvet sheets, cotton, glue, sketch pens and sparkles to make various accessories related to Christmas like Santa Claus. These can be used to gift others.
Learning: It increases the exposure and student's learning regarding the festival. Enhances their creativity. We can also make super hero characters like Spider man, Hulk, Iron man etc in the art and craft classes. Students can also make clown, snowman and other characters.  We can also use these to teach expressions in the class like joy, anger, confusion etc.
Nest model:
In case if we are teaching the topic- Birds to the class. We can make use of a model of nest. I made this using coconut shell, eggshell, crape paper, ice-cream sticks for the base, glue, dry grass and sketch pens.
Learning: This helps them to understand how birds build their nest and what they actually use for the same.

Facts: Most of an eggshell is calcium. In fact, about 95% of shells are calcium carbonate. It is the same stuff that sea shells, coral, and limestone are made from (the other 5% includes proteins, calcium phosphate, and magnesium carbonate).
